Creating Containers, The Purpose Clinic & Curated Content #19 September 2024

Hope everyone is well.

I was chatting to a friend of mine last week about how I love to create ‘containers’ for work I wish to do and plans I want to put in place. Creating a container is like an incubator. A safe space to explore, experiment and grow with the aim of developing clarity and a plan to move forward by the end. It releases the pressure we often put on ourselves to expect clarity at the beginning of a process or have immediate results.

This is why when clients first work with me, I recommend a three month container in which we meet every two weeks for 90 minutes. This container creates the right amount of space and time to allow for exploration and big vision thinking with an end date in mind to aim towards in terms of concrete decision-making and action. Autumn is the perfect time for this. A time to release what is not working and be intentional about what is. As we are now in October, anyone starting coaching now will create the conditions to begin 2025 with greater clarity and a plan in place for where they want their focus and energy to be in the new year.

As a business client, this may mean carving out time between now and the year end to get clarity around strategy and what needs your focus.

As a personal client, your focus may be on cultivating the clarity you need around what you want life and work to look like next year and beyond.
