For those of you interested in starting coaching with me in early 2024 or, indeed, those who have taken a break and want to return to coaching, I have opened some slots in my diary on the 2nd, 3rd of January and the following week, the 9th and 10th. Anyone who wishes to have an initial chat to discuss what is bringing you to (or back to) coaching and how we can work together, please feel free to book in via this link: Fiona English Appointment Calendar
Hey Friends,
It is the time of the year when there will be many posts focusing on goals for 2024. While goal development is important, a question I like to ask is ‘what do you want your impact to be?’
It can be easy to get caught up in life goals, work goals, business goals, financial goals but to forget why we have these goals; what we would like the outcome of our life, work, our skills and determination to be and why. ‘Impact Goals’ are high level goals that can keep us focused on who we are, what really matters, the real point of any goals we are setting and what impact we are trying to have on ourselves, others, and society.
My 2024 Impact Goal is to speak to 10,000 people. Why? Because I understand my leadership style is one of influence. I amplify the impact of myself and my work through others; through people reading what I write, listening to me speak and bringing what I am saying to life through their choices and their decision to bring more purpose to their actions and work. Reaching more people enables my impact, my desire for people to live and work in a more meaningful intentional way by helping them become who they want to be in the world.
Does the number scare me - yes! But it is only scary because it carries the risk of not achieving it. In truth, I am mainly curious about how I will get to that number. Audiences I spoke to during 2023 varied in size between 50 and 750 people, both in-person and online, so it will be interesting to see how it develops. As with everything I start, I am most curious about the journey it will create for me and what I will learn about myself and the real impact it may have on others along the way. To me, this is as important as reaching the actual number. I will share my progress and learnings here as the year unfolds.
If you are interested in inviting to me to speak in your organisation, please do reach out. More details on my speaking work is on my website: www.fiona-english.com
As accessibility is a core value of my business, I want to ensure this goal has wide-ranging impact. To facilitate this, I will be

In other news, I was a guest on the Refreshing Leadership podcast with Kate Brassington just before the holidays. We discussed how leadership begins with self-leadership, my research into spirituality, the idea of connectedness and the need for better leaders globally.
Lastly, if entering the new year has you reflecting on your career or simply your current role and next steps, the Career Change Summit is happening in January. I will be speaking on the role of spirituality in life transitions and career change and there will be many other speakers sharing their perspectives and research on the topic. It is free to attend and the link to register is here: Career Change Summit.
Wishing you all the 2024 you desire!
